Kara Katerie
Morin graduated from Smith College and received her
M.F.A. in playwriting from the University of Washington.
She is the author of twelve plays and two screenplays.
Her work has been workshopped or produced in Massachusetts,
Rhode Island, Seattle and Chicago. Her one-act play,
Pretty Speeches, has been published in an anthology
of plays from Perishable Theater and in Chinese translation
in November 2001 in New Scripts Magazine by the Beijing
Municipal Cultural Bureau.
Katerie
is the 1992 recipient of the Denis Johnston Playwriting
Award and a 1999 Massachusetts Cultural Councils
Artists Grant for playwriting. She is currently working
on her first novel based on her family's history called
"The Queen of the Green."
